Activate customers who tend to shop during sales periods, to encourage them to visit the website again and make another purchase in the next sale.
In this article, you'll learn how to create a strategy to reactivate bargain hunters.
How it works
To send the activation email, we first set up a workflow that checks if the contact made a purchase in the last sale period. If they did, they will receive an email with discounted products related to their last purchase.
Workflow configuration
STEP 1. “Start” node
(This node will set the target audience for the action).
1. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Start” node.
2. Under Select limitation, check "All my list" and select "Contacts with email".
3. Under Select data source, check "All existing".
4. Click Update.
STEP 2. "Is in segment" node
(This node will enter the contact into the workflow as soon as they join the “Bargain hunters” segment).
5. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Is in segment” node.
6. Under Select a segment, choose the segment created.
7. Click Update.
STEP 3. “Check value” node
(This node will identify contacts with a Frequency value of 4 or 5 in the RFM model.)
8. At the junction of this node with the previous one, click on the circle until "Yes" appears.
9. Click (Edit node settings) of the “Check value” node.
10. Drag the "RFM-Frequency" field from "Contact"to the left block.
11. Next, under Operator, choose "Is included in".
12. Drag the "Literal" value to the block on the right and select "4" and "5".
13. Click Update.
STEP 4. First “Fetch products” node
(This node will fetch the last products purchased by the contact).
14. At the junction of this node with the previous one, click on the circle until "Yes" appears.
15. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Fetch products” node.
16. To select the use cases, drag "Last purchased products" to the block on the right and click Next .
17. In Main use case settings, select "10" in Number of products to fetch.
18. Click Next .
19. In Summary, locate the section Number of products to fetch and indicate “10”.<> Then uncheck the "Fill with products until selected limit" box. </>
20. Click Complete .
STEP 5. Second “Fetch products” node
(This node will fetch the products on sale that belong to the Medium discounts product segment.)
21. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Fetch products” node.
22. To select the use cases, drag "Purchased in conjunction with a list of products" to the block on the right and "Best sellers" as an additional use case. Click Next .
23. In Main use case settings, select "10" in Number of products to fetch.
24. In Select the source of the products, choose "In a product segment" in the first selector and, in the second, the created segment. In this case, "Discounted products". Click Next .
25. In Additional case settings, select "10" for Number of products to fetch.
26. In Select the source of the products, choose "In a product segment" in the first selector and, in the second, the created segment. In this case, "Discounted products".
27. Under Select the time period of the purchases, choose "Last month's best sellers" and click Next .
28. In Summary, locate the section Number of products to fetch and indicate “10”. Then check the box "Exclude products exported by nodes before this one".
29. Click Complete .
STEP 6. “Send email” node
(This node will send the email with the products).
30. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send email” node.
31. Select the email you want to send and click Next .
32. In the Send to section, select "Contact".
33. Indicate the "Newsletter" type of email.
34. Configure the parameters section of "Send to contact".
35. Under Google Analytics, click "Enable Google Analytics" then Next .
36. In the Variables step, link any variables there may be.
37. Click Complete .
