2.5. (Optional). Custom form fields configuration

18. In the Customers tab, click on Add field.

19. In the Field name area, enter the name of the form field you want to synchronize. This must match exactly the name of the field you created in BigCommerce.

Bigcommerce Integration August 2025 - 3-min.png

In our example, we are synchronizing the field "Your pet's name", which we previously created in BigCommerce.

20. In the Connectif field ID area, enter or edit the ID of the Connectif custom field you want to synchronize with that BigCommerce field. The ID you enter in this area must match exactly the ID of the field you created in Connectif.

For custom fields of type "Checkbox", when creating the custom field in Connectif, you must add each of the response options in the exact same order as you set them in BigCommerce, and assign them a numeric value ID starting from "0", as this is how BigCommerce sends them. If you need more information on how to create and synchronize a "Checkbox" field, check this article.

In our example, the "Your pet's name" field in BigCommerce will be synchronized with the field with the ID "pet-name" in Connectif, which we previously created. In this case, we edited the default suggested ID, but if it matches exactly the one you have in Connectif, there is no need to edit it.

21. Click on Create field to start synchronizing this information.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What information does Connectif collect through this integration

a. Information collected from Contacts

In BigCommerce integrations, through the cn_client_info tag, certain information about Contacts is transferred by default:

  • _name
  • _surname
  • _mobilePhone

In addition, although BigCommerce does not send the information of Newsletter Subscription Status (See Question 3), it does send other fields that can be configured for Connectif to collect:

  • street
  • city
  • state
  • country
  • zip
  • street

For Connectif to automatically collect these fields and store them in the Contact Sheet, you must create a custom field for each one of them in your Connectif Store, where the ID matches the one indicated in this list (for example, to automatically collect the field referring to the country, you must create a custom field with the ID country in your Store).

b. Information collected from Products

In BigCommerce integrations, through the cn_product_visit tag, certain information about Products is collected by default:

  • url
  • name
  • brand
  • rating_value
  • unit_price
  • unit_price_original
  • unit_price_without_vat
  • disconted_amount
  • discounted_percentage
  • availability
  • product_id
  • image_url (with size by configuration)
  • thumbnail_url
  • related_external_product_id
  • category

Whether this data is stored in the Connectif Store will depend on whether it is correctly filled in within the eCommerce.

2. How to configure tracking in only one currency and/or channel

(This section explains what to do in case you only want to register browsing data from one type of currency and/or channel).

By default, when configuring the Store (section 2.4.), tracking is enabled for all currencies and storefronts (channels) you have configured in BigCommerce.

If you need more information on how to use multiple currencies in BigCommerce, check their official documentation.

You can configure different currencies and/or different channels by following this process:

  • In your BigCommerce account, under "Store Configuration > Your Store", enable the Multistore toggle.

To make Store configuration changes, you must temporarily disable Connectif tracking.

Bigcommerce Integration August 2025 - 17 (1)-min.png

  • Click on Add Store.

Bigcommerce Integration August 2025 - 18-min.png

  • Add the Client ID and Client Secret as in step 2.4.
  • In the Channel (storefront) dropdown, select the channel you want to track.
  • In the Currency dropdown, select the currency you want Connectif to track for that storefront.

This selector will display all the storefronts you have available in BigCommerce, used, for example, to manage multiple languages or different stores.

If you need more information on how to use multiple stores in BigCommerce, check their official documentation.

3. How to register a contact’s Newsletter Subscription Status

(This section explains how to use Connectif to register newsletter subscription statuses for BigCommerce contacts).

In BigCommerce, registered contacts are stored in a list (available in "Email Marketing > Subscribers"). However, there is no data in the CMS regarding newsletter subscription that confirms changes to it. Therefore, when these contacts unsubscribe, this change is not registered in BigCommerce and, as a result, this information will not be shared with Connectif.

To properly manage newsletter subscription registrations and changes, it is recommended that this is always done through Connectif. There are several ways to do this:

  • Integrate BigCommerce’s native subscription content as a signup form in Connectif: you can learn how to integrate a native web form into Connectif in this article.
  • Create the subscription form directly with Connectif: you can learn how to create a form to register contacts to your Newsletter in this video
  • Create double opt-in strategies so users confirm their status through other channels: you can learn how to create a step-by-step double opt-in strategy via email in this article (in addition, you have the strategy template available in your Connectif workflows area).

4. How to recover abandoned carts with the Cart Recovery URL

(This section explains how the Cart Recovery URL works to obtain items associated with a specific cart).

Through the integration with BigCommerce, a Cart Recovery URL is sent to Connectif, which is a link to recover the items related to that cart and can be used in workflows and content.

To obtain the cart recovery URL through a workflow, this must be done using the "Get last cart" node and "On cart abandonment", and then mapped into the variables of the content to be displayed or sent.
