Frequently Asked Questions

1. What information does Connectif collect through this integration?

a. Information collected from Contacts

In integrations with BigCommerce, through the tag cn_client_info, certain information about Contacts is transferred by default:

  • _name
  • _surname
  • _mobilePhone

Additionally, although BigCommerce does not send the Newsletter Subscription Status information (see Question 3), it does send other fields that can be configured for Connectif to collect:

  • street
  • city
  • state
  • country
  • zip
  • street

For Connectif to automatically collect these fields and store them in the Contact Sheet, you must create a custom field for each of them in your Connectif Store, using the same ID indicated in this list (for example, to automatically collect the country field, you must create a custom field with the ID country in your Store).

b. Information collected from Products

In integrations with BigCommerce, through the tag cn_product_visit, certain information about Products is collected by default:

  • url
  • name
  • brand
  • rating_value
  • unit_price
  • unit_price_original
  • unit_price_without_vat
  • disconted_amount
  • discounted_percentage
  • availability
  • product_id
  • image_url (configured size)
  • thumbnail_url
  • related_external_product_id
  • category

Whether this data is stored in the Connectif Store will depend on it being properly filled out in the eCommerce platform.

2. How to configure tracking for only one currency and/or channel

(This section explains what to do if you only want to record browsing data for one type of currency and/or channel).

By default, when configuring the Store (section 2.4.), tracking is enabled for all currencies and storefronts (channels) configured in BigCommerce.

If you need more information on how to use multiple currencies in BigCommerce, check their official documentation.

To configure different currencies and/or different channels, follow this process:

  • In your BigCommerce account, under "Store Configuration > Your Store" enable the Multistore toggle.

To make Store configuration changes, you must temporarily disable Connectif tracking.

3. How to register a contact’s Newsletter Subscription Status

(This section explains how to use Connectif to register newsletter subscription statuses for BigCommerce contacts).

In BigCommerce, registered contacts are stored in a list (available under "Email Marketing > Subscribers"). However, there is no data in the CMS about newsletter subscription that confirms any changes. Therefore, when these contacts unsubscribe, this change is not recorded in BigCommerce and consequently, this information will not be shared with Connectif.

To properly manage newsletter subscription registrations and changes, it is recommended to always handle them through Connectif. There are several ways to do this:

  • Integrate BigCommerce’s native subscription content as a signup form in Connectif: You can learn how to integrate a native web form into Connectif in this article.
  • Create the subscription form directly with Connectif: You can learn how to create a form to register contacts to your Newsletter in this video.
  • Create double opt-in strategies so users confirm their status through other channels: You can learn how to build a double opt-in email strategy step-by-step in this article (you also have the strategy template available in your Connectif workflows area).

4. How to recover abandoned carts with the Cart Recovery URL

(This section explains how the Cart Recovery URL works to retrieve items associated with a specific cart).

Through the integration with BigCommerce, a Cart Recovery URL is sent to Connectif, which is a link to recover items related to that cart and can be used in workflows and content.

To retrieve the cart recovery URL through a workflow, use the "Get last cart" and "On cart abandonment" nodes, then map it in the variables of the content to display or send.

  • Learn how this URL works in different CMSs and how to use it in this article.
