How do I install Brilliant in my store?
You can install Brilliant through the Shopify App Store.

Where can I install Brilliant?
You can install Brilliant in any store that uses the Shopify platform.

What permissions does the app request during installation?
Brilliant only requests the permissions it needs to analyze your catalog and provide accurate recommendations:

read_inventory: To read your product inventory. -
read_locales: To learn which languages are available in your store. -
read_publications: To see where products are published (channels). -
read_translations: To view product translations. -
read_themes: To read Brilliant's activation status in the current theme. -
read_content: To read your store's blogs and pages and use them as the assistant's knowledge base. -
read_online_store_navigation: To understand how your products are organized and categorized in your store's navigation. -
read_orders: So the assistant can answer your customers' questions about the status and tracking of their orders. -
write_markets: To add metadata to markets. -
write_products: To add metadata to products. -
write_metaobject_definitions: To create metaobject definitions. -
write_metaobjects: To create or edit the metaobjects required by Brilliant.

Why does Brilliant ask me to approve new permissions if I already had the app installed?
Some new features, such as syncing blogs and pages or checking orders, require additional permissions.
If you installed Brilliant before these features were available, you'll see a notice in the dashboard with the new permissions requested and their purpose.
Click Continue in Shopify to access Shopify, review the permissions, and accept them. Until you approve them, the features that require them won't be available.

How do I know if the installation was completed successfully?
When you finish the process in Shopify, you'll access the Brilliant dashboard, where a welcome wizard will guide you through the first steps.
First, you'll need to activate Brilliant Control Center in your store's theme.

How do I activate Brilliant in my Shopify theme?
In the welcome wizard, click Activate in Shopify. You'll access the theme editor with Brilliant Control Center activated.
Click Save and return to Brilliant to continue the installation.
This setup is only required once and allows the assistant to appear in your store. Your customers won't see Brilliant until you activate it from its dashboard.

How do I know that my store is ready?
Once Brilliant Control Center is activated in the theme, Brilliant will automatically begin importing and processing your catalog
On Home, you'll see the message "We're preparing your store" and a progress bar showing the products processed.
When processing is complete, the message "Brilliant is ready to be activated in your store!" will appear, and you'll be able to click Activate Brilliant.

Can I try Brilliant before my customers see it?
Yes. From Home, click Preview to open your store and try the assistant.
During the preview, only you will be able to see Brilliant. Your customers won't see it until you activate it.
The preview will be available once the catalog has finished processing and requires Brilliant to be active in the Shopify theme.

How do I activate or deactivate Brilliant in my store?
From Home, use Activate Brilliant or Deactivate Brilliant.
If you deactivate it, the assistant will stop appearing in your store, but you'll retain all its settings and can reactivate it whenever you want.

Can I use Brilliant in multiple stores?
Yes, you can install Brilliant in every Shopify store you manage independently.
Languages, markets, and currencies

Do I need to create an agent for each language and currency?
No. Brilliant works in a unified way across your entire store, so you don't need to create separate agents for each language and currency combination.
Design, skills, training, and product management settings are configured once and applied across the entire store.

In which markets is Brilliant displayed?
Brilliant automatically detects the markets configured in Shopify and is displayed in all active markets.
If you create, modify, or delete a market in Shopify, Brilliant will update automatically.

What language does Brilliant use to respond to my customers?
Brilliant adapts its responses to each customer's language and uses the product translations configured in Shopify.
If you add or remove languages in your store, Brilliant will detect them automatically.

Does Brilliant display prices in each market's currency?
Yes. Brilliant displays products and their prices in the currency corresponding to the market from which each customer is browsing.

Do I need to configure Brilliant in each language?
No. You can complete Brilliant's training in your language.
The assistant will adapt its responses to the language of each conversation, so you don't need to add the same content in multiple languages.
Catalog and product management

How long does Brilliant take to process the catalog?
The initial processing by Brilliant can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the size of your catalog.
You can check its progress from Home.

What does Brilliant do with my catalog during processing?
Brilliant imports your products from Shopify and enriches them using artificial intelligence.
During this process, it categorizes products, generates descriptions and highlights, prepares frequently asked questions, identifies products in images, and calculates bundles and combinations. It also generates search suggestions based on your catalog.

What happens if I add, modify, or delete products in Shopify?
Brilliant automatically syncs with your Shopify catalog.
New products, changes, and deletions will be reflected in Brilliant without you having to reimport the catalog.

Which products does Brilliant display?
Brilliant only displays products that are active and published in your ecommerce store.
You can also exclude specific products using the blacklist.

Can I edit the taxonomy (catalog structure) that AI creates automatically?
Yes. From "Settings > Catalog structure", you can modify category names and attribute labels, such as color or size.

Can I identify new products in my catalog?
Yes. From "Settings > Catalog structure", you can add the Shopify tags that identify your new products.
Products containing any of these tags will be displayed on the Brilliant home screen.

Can I highlight products in my catalog?
Yes. From "Settings > Catalog structure", you can add the tags for the products you want to highlight.
Products containing any of these tags will appear first in search results.

Can I exclude products from my catalog?
Yes. From "Settings > Catalog structure", you can add the tags of products you want to exclude from Brilliant to the blacklist.
Products with these tags won't appear in searches or recommendations, and Brilliant won't be able to interact with them in your store either.

Can I use my Shopify metafields?
Yes. Brilliant automatically uses your products' basic information, such as the title or description.
Additionally, from "Train your AI > Metadata", you can select the additional metafields that Brilliant will consider to improve its responses and recommendations.
Only compatible metafield types will be displayed.
Train your AI

How can I teach Brilliant information about my store?
From "Train your AI > Knowledge base", you can add information that Brilliant will use to answer your customers, such as shipping and return policies, size guides, or frequently asked questions.
You can add:
- Text: information written directly in the dashboard.
- URLs: web pages whose content Brilliant will analyze. You can set up a new daily or weekly crawl, or disable crawling.
- Files: TXT, DOCX, MD, or PDF documents up to 5 MB.
You can add up to five pieces of content of each type. Changes may take a few minutes to appear in the assistant.

Can Brilliant use my Shopify store's blogs and pages?
Yes. From the Blogs and Pages tabs in the knowledge base, you can select up to 50 blog articles and 50 pages from your store
Brilliant will automatically sync this content for use in its responses.

What does it mean when knowledge base content has an “Error” status?
It means that Brilliant was unable to process it. This can happen, for example, if a URL no longer exists, requires you to sign in, or points to a file that Brilliant can't read, such as an image or video.
Hover over the status to see the reason for the error. You can then correct the entry or use Retry processing.

Can I define how Brilliant behaves and responds?
Yes. From "Train your AI > Behavior", you can configure:
- Guidelines: Add up to 10 instructions to define Brilliant's tone and style, as well as what it should or shouldn't do.
- Response style: Select the response length—“concise”, “balanced”, or “detailed”—and its format: “simple”, “structured”, or “rich”.

What is the business profile used for?
From "Train your AI > Business profile", you can specify what your store sells, who it serves, and what industry you're in.
This information gives Brilliant more context about your business and customers so it can adapt its recommendations and responses.
Skills and design

What skills does Brilliant offer?
From Skills, you can view and manage the assistant's capabilities:
- Smart search: Interprets the customer's natural language and displays the most relevant products.
- Product analysis: Answers questions about product features, materials, and uses.
- Similar products: Displays alternatives with similar styles or features.
- Products that go together: Recommends complementary products.
- Product bundles: Suggests product combinations in bundles.
- Comparison: Compares several products to help customers make a decision.
- Search by image: Allows customers to upload an image and find similar products or combinations.
- Products in catalog images: Allows customers to select visible items in your product images.
- Ask about my order: Allows customers to check the status, tracking, and details of their orders.

Can I display carousels or suggested questions on my product pages?
Yes. From the Shopify theme editor, you can add the following Brilliant blocks to your product pages:
- Similar products carousel.
- Products that go together carousel.
- Product questions.
From Skills you can also click Add in Shopify or Edit in Shopify to manage them.

Can I change the position of the assistant bubble?
Yes. From the Shopify theme editor, in Brilliant Control Center, you can configure the position of the main bubble, its margins, and the z-index.
You can also use different settings for mobile devices, enable a welcome message next to the bubble, and configure the bubble that appears over product cards.

Can I customize Brilliant's appearance?
Yes. From Design, you can adapt Brilliant to your brand's visual identity by configuring:
- Colors: Define your primary color to generate the palette.
- Buttons: Border radius and text transformation
- Logo: Upload your store logo (PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG, up to 5 MB).
- Icons: Choose or upload the icon for the main bubble and product bubble (SVG or PNG, up to 500 KB).
- Product card: Image ratio, display style, border radius, and outline.
You can use the preview to see how the changes will appear on the assistant's different screens. When you activate Brilliant, the font will automatically adapt to your store's font.
Analytics and conversations

How can I measure Brilliant's impact on my sales?
From Analytics you can view metrics about Brilliant's performance, such as assisted purchases compared with your store's total, conversion rate, average order value, ROI, the purchase funnel, or conversations by device.
You can also see which Brilliant elements, such as bubbles, carousels, or suggested questions, generate the most interaction.

Can I connect Brilliant to Google Analytics?
Yes. From “Settings > Google Analytics”, you can enable the integration and enter your Google Analytics ID to measure Brilliant's performance in your store.

What language does Brilliant use to respond to my customers?
Yes. From Home, in the “Chat conversations” card, you can view the number of total conversations, conversations from the last week, and conversations from the last day.
Click Download chats to download the conversations.

Does Brilliant display prices in each market's currency?
Yes. Brilliant displays products and their prices in the currency corresponding to the market from which each customer is browsing.
Plan and limits

What does my plan include?
You can check your plan usage from Home, in the “Plan usage” card.
Each plan includes a maximum number of catalog products and conversations per month.

What happens if I reach the conversation limit?
Brilliant will stop appearing in your store until the limit resets.
The conversation counter automatically resets at the beginning of each month. In the “Plan usage” card on Home you can check the number of days remaining until the next reset.

What happens if my catalog exceeds my plan's product limit?
Brilliant will display a notice in the dashboard indicating that your store needs a more advanced plan.
From that same notice, you can request priority access to the plans available for larger catalogs.
Support and additional resources

Brilliant doesn't appear in my store. What can I check?
Check that:
- Brilliant Control Center is activated and the changes are saved in your published Shopify theme.
- Brilliant is activated from Home.
- The catalog has finished processing.
- You haven't reached your plan's conversation limit.
- The customer is browsing from an active market in your store.
