Creating a test segment is an excellent way to verify the behavior of a workflow before implementing it across your entire audience. It is a static segment intended to add the people who want to check the behavior of a workflow.
In this article, we show you a step-by-step guide to create and use a test segment in Connectif.
STEP 1: Creating the Test Segment
1. Access your Connectif Store.
2. Go to "Audience > Segments" and click "Create new segment".
3. In the pop-up window, select "Static Segment".
4. Set a name to identify the segment, for example, "Test Segment," and add a description if you wish.
5. Click "Save" to create the segment.
STEP 2: Adding Contacts to the Test Segment
6. Go to "Audience > Contacts".
7. Select the contact you want to add to the segment and click on (Details).
8. Click on the fourth tab "Segments" of the Contact Card.
9. Click Add to static segment and click the dropdown to search for the test segment.
10. Click the Add to segments button, return to the contact list, and repeat the process for each contact you want to add to the segment.
STEP 3: Using the Segment to Test a Workflow
11. Go to the workflow you want to test and, in the node "Start", click on (Edit node settings).
12. Under Select a Limitation, click Belonging to the Segment and select the test segment.
13. Run the workflow with the test segment to verify that everything works correctly.
STEP 4: Duplicating the Workflow Once Tested
14. Once verified, go to the Workflows interface and locate the workflow you just tested.
15. Click More and Duplicate.
16. In the "Start" node of the new workflow, edit the settings to select the desired audience.
