“Send web content” node

The "Send web content" node is an action node that is used to display specific web content in your ecommerce site to contacts who reach that part of the workflow. Through this node you can also create or modify website content of the five types available in Connectif (popup, full screen, floating bar, slide in and inline).

How to access it

In your workflows, drag the “Send web content” node from the right-hand menu to the design area. You can access its settings by clicking (Edit node settings).

Interface

The main interface of the “Send web content” node is composed of three blocks:

1. Node parameters: to edit the settings and limitations of the node or to view the exported data.

If you’d like to learn more about node limitations, click here.

2. Configuration progress: to see your progress through the node configuration steps.

3. FilterType – To filter the web content to be submitted by type, search, or tags.

4. Selected content: to check what content the node is going to display.

5. New content: to create new content by accessing the web content editor via the node itself.

6. List of contents: to view and edit content. By default, it shows all the existing content and, when using the filters, the resulting selection.

How it works

Action nodes are used to execute specific operations within flows. The “Send web content” node is used to display specific web content to contacts who arrive at that part of the workflow.

The interface of the "Send web content" node offers the option to select one of the pieces of content already created, to edit them or create one from scratch without having to leave the node, from the Edit button  from the list of contents (6).

1. Send popup, full screen, floating bar or slide-in web content

In the Configuration of the "Send web content" node, select the Popup, Full Screen, Slide In and/or Floating Bar content types in the filter configuration options (3).

These four types of content have the same configuration screen, which indicates the moment at which they’ll be displayed on the website, as this is content superimposed on the page.

In the content list (6), select the content you want to display by clicking on it, then click Next   to access the second step of the configuration.

In the second step of the configuration, which you can see in the progress bar (2), indicate when you want the content to be displayed:

  • Immediately: to display the content at the moment the page loads.
  • On leaving the page: to display the content when a movement of the cursor towards the "x" of the closing tab or window is detected.

Use this option when you’re displaying the content on the desktop, as mobile devices don’t have a cursor and it’s not possible to detect when the page is abandoned.

  • On scrolling: to show the content when the contact has browsed a specific percentage of the page.
  • After a few seconds: to display the content after a few specific seconds after accessing the page.
  • After a few seconds of inactivity: to display the content when the contact has not moved the mouse for a certain length of time.

If you want this content to be displayed only when contacts have not accepted or declined the subscription to push notifications, indicate this through the checkbox in the Show depending on their subscription to push notifications section.

In our example, the "Send web content" node is set to display after 10 seconds of inactivity.

Once you click Next , you’ll access the Variables screen, where you can map all the custom content that your design includes. If the content you've generated doesn't include variables, you don't need to do anything.

If you’d like to learn more about assigning variables, click here.

In our example, the "Name" variable will be populated with the "Name" field of the contact file.

After you’ve finished configuring the node, in node parameters (1) go to the Limitations tab to configure the conditions under which the content will not be displayed.

When you have made all the adjustments, click Finish .

2. Send inline web content

In the Configuration of the "Send web content" node, select the Inline type of content in the filter configuration options (3).

The configuration screen for inline content is different from other types of web content. Inline content is embedded within the page, which means that it will appear like any other web content.

In the content list (6), select the content you want to display by clicking on it, then click Next   to access the second step of the configuration.

In our example, inline content will be displayed by replacing the inside of the content with the ID "body-iframe".

Once you click Next , you’ll access the Variables screen, where you can map all the custom content that your design includes. If the content you've generated doesn't include variables, you don't need to do anything.

After finishing the configuration, in node parameters (1) go to the Limitations tab to configure the conditions under which the content will not be displayed.

When you have made all the adjustments, click Finish .

3. Create new web content from the node

In the Configuration of the "Send web content" node, click  Create new content in the new content block (5).

4. Edit existing web content from the node

In the Configuration of the "Send web content" node, go to the content list (6) and click Edit on the content you want to modify.

When editing web content, the changes will be made to the original. In other words, duplicate content will not be generated with the changes.

The Content Editor will open, where you can make any changes you want. When your content is ready, click   Save and   Back to selector to finish configuring the node, depending on whether it is Inline content (see step 3) or not (see step 2).
