Copy and paste nodes

Copying and pasting nodes is a very simple action you can perform in your workflow configuration. By using this feature, you can streamline the configuration process and avoid potential errors.

How to Access?

The ‘Selection’ mode allows you to define a selection area by holding down the left mouse button and dragging. All nodes within the dotted area will be selected when you release the mouse button.

Interface

Copy node and Paste node are two contextual buttons that appear from the ‘Selection’ mode button when a node is selected.

If no node is copied to the clipboard, the Paste node action will not be available.

The Clipboard has its own area where you can view copied content and drag it into the workflow or delete nodes that were previously copied.

Functionality

The functionality of the Copy node and Paste node actions is based on a very simple node selection system and, in the case of the clipboard, on a 'drag and drop' (drag and drop) system.

1. Copy a Node

Select a node by clicking on it, expand the ‘Selection’ mode and click on Copy node. You can also copy it using the shortcut Control + C.

Once copied, the node will be stored in your clipboard.

2. Copy Multiple Nodes

Click on Activate ‘Selection’ mode, click on any area of your workflow panel, and, without releasing, drag to select the desired nodes.

The ‘Selection’ mode allows you to define a selection area by holding down the left mouse button and dragging. All nodes within the dotted area will be selected when you release the mouse button.

Once selected, expand the ‘Selection’ mode and click on Copy node. You can also copy it using the shortcut Control + C.

3. Paste One or More Nodes

Select a node, expand the ‘Selection’ mode and click on Paste node. You can also paste it using the shortcut Control + V or drag it from the Clipboard.

Pasted nodes are linked after the selected node, except when using the Clipboard, which allows them to be dragged freely to any point on the editing panel.

Pasted branches retain the names of the nodes and even the limitations between them, if both the limited node and the limiter are included in the selection.

You can rename pasted nodes to better identify them. Rename a selected node from ‘Selection’ mode by clicking on Rename or using the F2 key.

4. Use the Clipboard

In the Clipboard area, click on   to expand and view previously copied nodes.

If you haven't copied any nodes, the Clipboard will appear empty.
The clipboard can hold up to 5 copied items, nodes, or node branches, ready for use.

To insert a copied item, click on it and drag it to the desired area of the editing panel.

To delete a node or branch copied to the Clipboard, click on  (Discard copied node / Discard copied branch).

The Clipboard is unique to each workflow and is automatically emptied when you exit the editor.

Congratulations!
You've reached the end of the lesson.
