Copy and paste nodes

Copying and pasting nodes is a very simple action that you can perform in your workflow configuration. By using this feature, you can speed up the configuration process and avoid potential errors.

How to access it

Create a new workflow in “Workflows > Create new workflow” or modify one of your existing workflows by clicking ✏ Edit.

Interface

Copy node and Paste node are two contextual buttons that are displayed from the 'Select' mode button when a node is selected.

If there is no node copied to the clipboard the Paste node action will not be available.

The Clipboard has its own area where you can view the copied content and drag it into the workflow or delete nodes that have been copied previously.

How it works

The operation of the Copy node and Paste node actions is based on a very simple system of node selection and, in the case of the clipboard, drag and drop.

1. Copy a node.

Select a node by clicking on it, display the 'Select' mode and click Copy node. You can also copy it using the shortcut Control + C.

Once copied, the node will be stored in your clipboard.

2. Copy several nodes.

Click Activate select mode, click on any area of your workflow panel and, without releasing, drag to select the desired nodes.

Select mode: to outline a selection area by holding down the left mouse button and dragging. All nodes inside the dotted area will be selected when the mouse is released.

Once selected, display the 'Select' mode and click Copy node. You can also copy it using the shortcut Control + C.

3. Paste one or more nodes

Select a node, display the 'Select' mode and click Paste node. You can also paste it with the shortcut Control + V or drag it from the Clipboard.

The pasted nodes are linked after the selected node, except when using the Clipboard, which allows you to drag them freely to any point in the editing pane.

The pasted branches retain the names of the nodes and even the limitations between them, provided that both the limited node and the limiter are included in the selection.

You can modify the name of the pasted nodes to better identify them. Rename a selected node from the 'Select' mode by clicking Rename or by using the F2 key.

4. Using the Clipboard

In the Clipboard area, click on to display and view the previously copied nodes.

If you have not copied any nodes, the Clipboard will appear empty.
The clipboard can contain up to five copied elements (nodes or branches of nodes) ready for use.

To insert a copied element, click on it and drag it to the desired area of the editing pane.

To delete a copied node or branch in the Clipboard, click (Discard copied node / Discard copied branch).

The Clipboard is unique for each workflow and is automatically emptied when you exit the editor.

Congratulations!
You’ve reached the end of the tutorial.
