Email is a basic element of our communications with the customers who visit our website or eCommerce and if used well can help us increase sales and traffic. By automating this type of campaign to periodically send a series of products to newsletter subscribers, you can save time and maximize your profits.
In this article, you’ll learn how to create a weekly recommended products campaign.
How it works
To send an automated product campaign to contacts, we’re going to configure a workflow with an email to be sent only to contacts who are subscribed to the newsletter.
Workflow configuration
STEP 1. “Start” node
(This node will set the target audience for the action).
1. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Start” node.
2. Under Select limitation, check "All my list" and select "Contacts with email".
3. Under Select data source, check "All existing".
4. Click Update.
STEP 2. “Schedule” node
(This node will re-enter contacts into the workflow.)
5. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Schedule” node.
6. Select how frequently you want it to repeat, in this case "Weekly", then select "Every week" and the day of the week, for this example, "Wednesday".
7. Under At this time of day select the time and time zone, in this case, "10:00" and "Europe/Madrid".
8. Click Update.
STEP 3. “Check value” node
(This node will check if the contact is subscribed to the newsletter).
9. Click (Edit node settings) of the “Check value” node.
10. Drag the "Newsletter subscription status" field from "Contact" to the block on the left.
11. Under Operator, select "Is selected”.
12. Drag the "Literal" value to the block on the right and select "Subscribed".
13. Click Update.
STEP 4. “Fetch products” node
(This node will fetch the last products visited by the contact).
14. At the junction of this node with the "Check value" node, click on the circle until "Yes" appears.
15. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Fetch products” node.
16. To select use cases, drag "Last visited products" to the block on the right and "Best Sellers" to the additional use case. Click Next .
17. In Main use case settings, select "12" in the Number of products to fetch.
18. Under Select the time period of the visits, select "In the last time interval" and, in the "Days" field, type "7". Click Next .
19. In Additional case settings, select "12" for Number of products to fetch.
20. Under Select the time period of the visits choose "More than last week" and click Next .
21. In Summary, locate the section Number of products to fetch and indicate "12" in Number of products to fetch.
22. Click Complete .
STEP 5. “Send email” node
(This node will send the campaign email).
23. At the junction of this node with the previous one, click on the circle until "Yes" appears.
24. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send email” node.
25. Select the email you want to send and click Next .
26. In the Send to section, select "Contact".
27. Indicate the "Newsletter" type of email.
28. Configure the parameters section of "Send to contact".
29. Under Google Analytics, click "Enable Google Analytics" then Next .
30. Click Complete .
