Creating a test segment is an excellent way to verify the behavior of a workflow before implementing it for your entire audience. It is a static segment intended to add people who want to test the behavior of a workflow.
In this article, we provide a step-by-step guide on how to create and use a test segment in Connectif.
STEP 1: Creating the test segment
1. Access your Connectif Store.
2. Go to "Contacts > Segments" and click on "Create new segment".
3. In the pop-up window, select "Static Segment".
4. Set a name to identify the segment, for example, "Test Segment", and add a description if desired.
5. Click on "Save" to create the segment.
STEP 2: Adding contacts to the test segment
6. Go to "Contacts > View All".
7. Select the contact you want to add to the segment and click on (Details).
8. Scroll down to the bottom of the Contact Sheet and click on the dropdown to search for the test segment.
9. Select it and click on + Add to Segment.
10. Click on Apply, return to the contact list, and repeat the process for each contact you want to add to the segment.
STEP 3: Using the segment to test a workflow
11. Go to the workflow you want to test and, in the node "Start", click on (Edit Node Configuration).
12. In Select a Restriction, click on Belongs to Segment and select the test segment.
13. Run the workflow with the test segment to verify that everything works correctly.
STEP 4: Duplicating the workflow once tested
14. Once verified, go to the Workflows interface and locate the workflow you just tested.
15. Click on More and Duplicate.
16. In the "Start" node of the new workflow, edit the configuration to select the desired audience.
17. Save and activate the workflow to run it.
