When you make a sale, use it as an opportunity to grow your email subscriber base with a popup that appears after the user makes a purchase.
In this article you’ll learn how to create a post-purchase newsletter subscriber acquisition strategy.
How it works
To create this strategy, we will configure a popup with a newsletter subscription form that will be shown to the user after they purchase. This content will have a daily limitation to only react to the first purchase of the day.
After submitting the form, users will see another submission confirmation popup and receive an welcome email.
Workflow configuration
STEP 1. "Start" node
(In this node, you’ll set the target audience for the action).
1. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Start” node.
2. Under Select limitation, check "All my list".
3. Under Select data source, check “All existing and new”.
4. Click Update.
STEP 2. “On purchase” node
(Contacts that make a purchase will be detected in this node).
5. Click (Edit node settings) in the “On purchase” node.
6. Click Limitations and uncheck the "Deactivate after triggering" box.
7. In Temporarily disable after event, add a limitation of “1” Days.
8. Click Update.
STEP 3. “Check value” node
(This node will check if the contact is subscribed to the newsletter).
9. Click (Edit node settings) of the “Check value” node.
10. Drag the "Newsletter subscription status" field from "Contact" to the block on the left.
11. Under Operator, select "Is selected”.
12. Drag the "Literal" value to the block on the right and select "Subscribed".
13. Click Update.
STEP 4. First “Send web content: popup” node
(This node will send a popup with the newsletter subscription form).
14. At the junction of this node with the previous one, click on the circle until "No" appears.
15. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send web content” node.
16. Select the corresponding Popup content and click Next .
17. In this case, check "After a few seconds" and, in "Show when elapsed", type "5" Seconds.
18. In the Variables step, link any variables there may be.
19. Click Complete .
STEP 5. “On form submission” node
(This node will detect the moment when the form is sent).
20. Click (Edit node settings) in the “On form submission” node.
21. Click on "A specific form".
22. Next, select the form you want the workflow to reacted to. In this case, the form displayed in the popup.
23. Click Limitations and uncheck the "Deactivate after triggering" box.
24. Click Update.
STEP 6. Second “Send web content: popup” node
(This node will send a popup to confirm submission of the form).
25. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send web content” node.
26. Select the corresponding Popup content and click Next .
27. In the Variables step, link any variables there may be.
28. Click Complete .
STEP 7. “Send email” node
(This node will send the email with the welcome to the newsletter message).
29. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send email” node.
30. Under Limitations, uncheck the "Limit per contact" box.
31. In Settings, select the email you want to send and click Next .
32. In the Send to section, select "Contact".
33. Indicate the "Newsletter" type of email.
34. Configure the parameters section of "Send to contact".
35. Under Google Analytics, click "Enable Google Analytics" then Next .
36. Click Complete .
