Optimize your subscription welcome messages to various ecommerce communication channels by managing them in a single workflow.
In this article you’ll learn how to send a welcome message according to the channel.
How it works
To send welcome messages, it detects the moment when the contacts enter the corresponding segment.
- When they enter the dynamic segment "Newsletter subscribers", it sends the welcome email.
- When they enter the dynamic segment "Subscribed to push", it sends the welcome push notification.
- When they enter the dynamic segment "SMS subscribers", it sends the welcome SMS.
Workflow configuration
STEP 1. "Start" node
(In this node, you’ll set the target audience for the action).
1. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Start” node.
2. Under Select limitation, check "All my list" and select "All my list".
3. Under Select data source, check “All existing and new”.
4. Click Update.
STEP 2. First "On entering segment" node
(In this node the contact will be entered in the workflow as soon as they join the segment "Newsletter subscribers").
5. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Is in segment” node.
6. Under Select a segment, choose the segment created.
7. Click Update.
STEP 3. “Send email” node
(In this node the welcome email will be sent to the contacts that enter the "Newsletter subscribers" segment).
8. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send email” node.
9. Select the email you want to send and click Next .
10. In the Send to section, select "Contact".
11. Indicate the "Newsletter" type of email.
12. Configure the parameters section of "Send to contact".
13. Under Google Analytics, click "Enable Google Analytics" then Next .
14. In the Variables step, link any variables there may be.
15. Click Complete .
STEP 4. Second "On entering segment" node
(In this node, the contact will be entered into the workflow as soon as they join the "Subscribed to push" segment).
16. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Is in segment” node.
17. Under Select a segment, choose the segment created.
18. Click Update.
STEP 5. “Show push notifications” node
(In this node the welcome push notification will be sent to the contacts that enter the "Subscribed to push" segment).
19. In the “Show push notifications” node, click (Edit node settings).
20. Select the web push you want to send and click Next .
21. In the Variables step, link any variables there may be.
22. In Mappings, click on Finish .
STEP 6. Third "On entering segment" node
(In this node the contact will be entered into the workflow as soon as they join the "SMS subscribers" segment).
23. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Is in segment” node.
24. Under Select a segment, choose the segment created.
25. Click Update.
STEP 7. “Send SMS” node
(In this node the welcome SMS will be sent to contacts that enter the "SMS subscribers" segment).
26. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send SMS” node.
27. In Settings, select the SMS you want to send and click Next .
28. In the Send to section, select "Contact".
29. Indicate the "Newsletter" type of email.
30. Configure the Sending Parameters section.
31. In the Variables step, link any variables there may be.
32. Click Complete .
