Types of variable formats in Connectif

Este artigo está atualmente disponível em inglês e espanhol. Você pode usar esta documentação enquanto ela não estiver disponível em seu idioma.

The variable format types in email, web content, or push notifications allow you to contextualize and control how data is displayed. This enables you to further personalize each contact's experience, increasing loyalty and conversion for your dynamic content.

Before continuing, we recommend reading the article that explains what a variable is and how to use it in Connectif.

1. Properties

Variables created in Connectif have an assigned format, which determines how the data stored in its corresponding field should be displayed.

In Connectif, there are five types of formats:

  • No Format: displays the data exactly as it was assigned, without any formatting. It is typically used to store text data.

By default, variables that do not have a specified format are considered to have no format.

  • Number: allows you to define the format in which decimals and thousands are represented and displayed.
  • Date: allows you to define the format in which a date is represented: numerically, textually, or in ISO 8601 format.

The ISO 8601 format has a structure like this: year-month-day (yyyy-mm-dd).

  • Currency: always represented with two decimal places and accompanied by the currency symbol configured in the store.

Each Connectif account can only have one currency assigned in its settings. This currency can be changed in "Your Connectif account > Settings" under the section Currency for displaying prices.

  • Percentage: always represents data with the percentage symbol (%) and allows you to configure whether or not to display decimal places.
  • HTML: used to store HTML code that will be interpreted by the browser and displayed in the content.

The HTML format can only be assigned to web content in the variable editing. It cannot be defined during content creation.

When creating a variable, it is possible to define a default value, which will be automatically assigned when there are no values to link from the data source.

If a variable has no value, nothing will be displayed on the screen.
