Communicate effectively about new offers on your website according to the type of device, to increase sales volume during the offer period.
In this article, you'll learn how to create an optimized sales announcement for mobile and desktop.
How it works
To show the new offer message, we are going to configure a workflow with popup-type web content that appears on any page when the contact visits the website. This popup will differ according to whether the contact visits the web via mobile or desktop
Workflow configuration
STEP 1. “Start” node
(This node will set the target audience for the action).
1. Click (Edit node settings) for the “Start” node.
2. Under Select limitation, check "All my list".
3. Under Select data source, check “All existing and new”.
4. Click Update.
STEP 2. “On page visit” node
(This node will detect contacts who visit any page from desktop).
5. Click (Edit node settings) in the “On page visit” node.
6. Under Limitations, uncheck the "Deactivate after triggering" box.
7. Click Update.
STEP 3. “Check value” node
(This node will identify if the contact is visiting the mobile website).
8. Click (Edit node settings) of the “Check value” node.
9. Drag the "Is mobile" field from "On page visit" to the block on the left.
10. Under Operator, select "Is equal to".
11. Drag the "Literal" field to the block on the right and activate the "Yes” box.
12. Click Update.
STEP 4. First “Send web content: popup” node
(This node will send a popup with the announcement of new offers adapted to mobile).
13. At the junction of this node with the previous one, click on the circle until "Yes" appears.
14. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send web content” node.
15. Select the corresponding Popup content and click Next .
16. In this case, check "After a few seconds" and, in "Show when elapsed", type "2" Seconds.
17. In the Variables step, link any variables there may be.
18. Click Complete .
STEP 5. First "On opening of web content" node
(This node will limit the on page visit node so that it doesn’t react to every visit of the same contact for a day).
19. Click (Edit node settings) in the “On opening of web content” node.
20. Click "One specific content" and select the Popup content shown in the previous node.
21. For Limitations, in the section Add external limitation, choose "On page visit" from the drop-down menu and, in the next one, "Deactivate for a period". Next, indicate "1" Day.
22. Click Update.
STEP 6. Second “Send web content: popup” node
(This node will send a popup with the new offer announcement designed for desktop).
23. At the junction of this node with the previous one, click on the circle until "No" appears.
24. Click (Edit node settings) in the “Send web content” node.
25. Select the corresponding Popup content and click Next .
26. In this case, check "After a few seconds" and, in "Show when elapsed", type "2" Seconds.
27. In the Variables step, link any variables there may be.
28. Click Complete .
STEP 7. Second "On opening of web content" node
(This node will limit the on page visit node so that it doesn’t react to every visit of the same contact for a day).
29. Click (Edit node settings) in the “On opening of web content” node.
30. Click "One specific content" and select the Popup content shown in the previous node.
31. For Limitations, in the section Add external limitation, choose "On page visit" from the drop-down menu and, in the next one, "Deactivate for a period". Next, indicate "1" Day.
32. Click Update.
