Anniversary of first purchase (segment)

Identify contacts who made their first purchase on this day in a previous year.

In this article, you’ll learn how to segment shoppers by their first purchase anniversary.

  

This dynamic plus segment is part of our first purchase anniversary template.

Remember that you can create your dynamic plus segment in "Contacts Segments", by clicking Create new segment and selecting "Dynamic plus segment".

 

Segmentation

In this segment, you’ll group contacts who made their first and only purchase on this date and are subscribed to the newsletter.

Configuring a dynamic plus segment

STEP 1. Contacts included

FILTER 1. Contacts subscribed to the newsletter

1. Click "Select field or activity". When the dropdown opens, select the "Contact profile" group on the left and, in the fields on the right, choose "Newsletter subscription status".

2. In the second dropdown, choose "Is equal to" and indicate "Subscribed" in the next dropdown that appears.

3. On the right, click "AND".

FILTER 2. Date of first purchase

4. Click "Select field or activity". When the dropdown opens, select the "Purchases" group on the left and, in the fields on the right, choose "Date of first purchase”.

5. In the next dropdown, select "The anniversary of the date is today".

FILTER 3. Total purchases

6. Click "Select field or activity". When the dropdown opens, select the "Purchases" group on the left side and, in the fields on the right, "Total purchases".

7. In the next dropdown, select "Is equal to", and indicate a value of "1".

STEP 2. Excluded contacts

FILTER 4. Date of purchase is in the last 24 hours

8. Click Add exclusion group.

9. Click "Select field or activity". When the dropdown menu opens, select the group "Purchases" on the left side and, in the Metrics on the right, "Date of last purchase”.

10. In the second dropdown, select "Is in the last", and indicate "24" Hours.

11. Click Save.
