Purchase abandoners

Optimize your identification of contacts who have abandoned their cart in the last month and send them, for example, a discount coupon that encourages them to make their first purchase.

In this article, you’ll learn how to segment contacts with abandoned purchases.

  

Remember that you can create your dynamic segment from "Contacts Segments", by clicking Create new segment and selecting "Dynamic plus segment".

 

Segmentation

In this segment, we’ll group contacts who have abandoned at least one cart in the last month, excluding those who have made a purchase during this same month or have abandoned a cart in the last five days.

Configuring a dynamic plus segment

STEP 1. Contacts included

FILTER 1. Carts abandoned in the last 30 days

1. Click "Select field or activity". When the dropdown opens, select the "Carts" group on the left side and, in the fields on the right, choose "Cart abandonment activities".

2. In the second dropdown, select "Are more than", and set a value of "0".

3. In the third dropdown, select "In the last", and set "30" Days.

STEP 2. Excluded contacts

FILTER 2. Purchases made in the last 30 days

4. Click Add exclusion group.

5. Click "Select field or activity". When the dropdown opens, select the "Purchases" group on the left side and, in the Activities on the right, "Purchase activities”.

6. In the second dropdown, select "Are more than", and set a value of "0".

7. In the third dropdown, select "In the last", and set "30" Days.

8. To the right or bottom, click "OR".

FILTER 3. More than five abandoned carts

9. Click Add exclusion group.

10. Click "Select field or activity". When the dropdown opens, select the "Carts" group on the left side and, in the fields on the right, choose "Cart abandonment activities".

11. In the second dropdown, select "Are more than", and set a value of "0".

12. In the third dropdown, select "In the last", and set "5" Days.

13. Click ✔ Save.
