The Connectif catalog automatically and securely synchronizes and verifies your products to keep itself updated and provide you with recommendations, purchase details, cart information, and display products and their properties in the content used in your strategies.
How Does Your Connectif Catalog Synchronize and Verify?
The process of synchronizing and verifying the eCommerce catalog in Connectif happens automatically, but some preliminary steps are necessary for this to occur.
1. Catalog Synchronization
Connectif manages and synchronizes a copy of your product catalog automatically. This information about product data (price, brand, categories, etc.) is transferred from the website to the tool through the "cn_product_visited" tag, which is triggered each time a visit is made to a product URL.
Learn how to check that product synchronization is working properly to ensure Connectif is capturing your catalog information.
Once this is done, you can schedule mass product synchronization via Web Scraping or through a Product Feed, so that Connectif periodically reviews your catalog using one of these two methods.
2. Product Verification
Connectif performs catalog verification by communicating directly with the website. At this step, Connectif programmatically requests the website to resend the product information to ensure the product exists and to also update its availability status (In Stock, Out of Stock, Discontinued). If the product is available for purchase, it will also be available for recommendations in Connectif.
There are two methods to verify products:
Verify product now, by clicking the "Verify product now" option found on the product page.
-
Mass product synchronization, a tool that allows you to automate how Connectif reviews and updates the catalog and refreshes it in your Store. Through its interface, you can choose to perform this process via Web Scraping or through the Product Feed, as well as configure it.
Mass Product Synchronization via XML Feed.
You can access the mass product synchronization feature through the path "Ecommerce > Catalog" by clicking on Product Synchronization.
3. Products via Connectif API
In addition to the synchronization and verification methods above, it is also possible to import and update products by making calls to the Connectif API. For this, creating a new API key is necessary.
