Contact Export API Versions

Connectif allows you to automate bulk exports of contacts and activities using the Export API. This export will contain certain modifications depending on the API version used. 

This article explains the properties of the Contact Export API and the changes in each version.

 

1. Properties

  • If you want to periodically automate (daily, weekly, etc.) the export of all or a large portion of your contacts and/or their activities, you can use the Export API.
  • The export request contains different editable properties, including the version (version) of the export.
  • The property referring to the export version can be specified to generate a CSV file containing specific fields, depending on the selected version.
  • These versions have some variations, so when changing versions, the generated CSV file will show differences that must be taken into account (see section 2).
  • If no version is specified, V1 will be used by default.
  • In the platform's Contact export functionality, the export version will always be the most recent one.

 

2. How it is used in Connectif: changes introduced in the versions

The fields and activities with changes introduced in each version are listed below, with the most recent versions shown first:

 

Version 8

a. Activities

Added fields:

  • Contact external ID
     

b. Activity type: contact-created, newsletter-subscribe and newsletter-unsubscribe

Added fields:

  • Source

     

Version 7

a. Contacts

Added fields:

  • Email tracking consent

  • Date of last email tracking consent denial

  • Date of last email tracking consent

  

These fields are only included in the export when email tracking privacy is enabled.

 

Version 6

a. Contacts

Added fields:

  • Has Android mobile push permission
  • Has iOS mobile push permission
  • Has mobile push permission
  

These fields are only included in the export when the Mobile App channel is enabled.

 

Version 5

a. Contacts

Added fields:

  • Date of last newsletter subscription
  • IP address of last newsletter subscription    
  • Source of last newsletter subscription    
  • Source of last newsletter unsubscribe    
  • Creation source

Modified fields:

  • Date of last unsubscribe: becomes Date of last newsletter unsubscribe

  • IP address of last unsubscribe: becomes IP address of last newsletter unsubscribe
     

b. Activity type: contact-created

Added fields:

  • Source

 

Version 4

a. Activity type: contact-merged

Added fields:

  • Previous contact ID
     

b. Activity type: purchase

Added fields:

  • Content ID

  • Content name

  • Content tags

  • Workflow ID

  • Workflow name

  • Workflow tags

  • Attribution confidence

  • Attribution scenario

     

Version 3

a. Contacts

  • Purchase source: becomes Source

e. Activity type: cart-product-added and cart-product-removed

Added fields:

  • Source

  • Device
     

f. Activity type: web-page-visited

Modified fields:

  • Visited page referrer: becomes Referrer
     

g. Activity type: email-link-clicked

Modified fields:

  • Visited page referrer: becomes Referrer
